National Notary Association Names Arizona’s
Kathy Fletcher as Its 2013 Notary of the Year

LOS ANGELES, June 5, 2013— The National Notary Association (NNA), the leader in best practices, training, and
advocacy for the nation’s community of 4.4 million Notaries, named
Kathy Fletcher of Phoenix, Arizona, as its
2013 Notary of the Year during its annual Conference in Austin, Texas, this week.
“The Notary of the Year designation is the highest honor bestowed upon Notaries Public in the United States,”
said NNA President and CEO Tom Heymann.  “Ms. Fletcher exemplifies the ideals of integrity, impartiality,
selflessness and public service—all important qualities of a Notary Public as they protect Americans from ID theft
and document fraud.  She was chosen from among dozens of highly-qualified nominees for her commitment to
advancing the role of a Notary Public, and for her significant volunteer activities.”
The NNA’s Notary of the Year awards program now in its 23rd year recognizes Notaries whose actions and
accomplishments go above and beyond their basic commissioned duty, and who have served to elevate the trust
and integrity associated with the American Notary Public office. The honor is based upon the candidate’s
achievements in notarial performance, community service, the provision of notarial services to the less fortunate,
and efforts to enact needed legislation.
Fletcher was recognized for her efforts to advance the professionalism of the Notary Public office by selflessly
mentoring new Notaries, encouraging continuing education, and advocating for stronger notarial legislation.  A
partner in Arizona Document Signing LLC, Fletcher handles real estate loan closings throughout the greater
Phoenix area. She is heavily involved in assisting the senior community, volunteers with the Paseo Verde Church
Women’s Ministry, and is an active member of a local hiking organization.
